You failed—your strength is small!” But that’s not what it means. The writer of Proverbs wasn’t attacking anyone. He was simply showing us something important:

He was showing us that if you fall in the time of adversity, it’s not because you’re a weakling, it’s just that your strength wasn’t built up for that battle.
So, Just like a baby learning to walk, falling is part of the process. If you’ve ever seen a baby take their first steps, you know how often they fall. But do their parents scold them for falling? No. They smile. They stretch out their arms. They say, “Try again.”

What if you choose to see that that’s how God sees you right now?

If you’ve been struggling with porn or masturbation for over a year, you may feel tired or ashamed. But God’s posture toward you is not disgust. It’s love. He sees you trying. And like a good Father, He’s cheering you on.

The Bible tells us that “God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their sins against them” (2 Corinthians 5:19). That’s the Father’s heart—He’s not tallying your falls.

It could take a child a year or two to learn the fundamentals of walking, but once they learn it, they don’t need to relearn it. That period of falling and trying builds the strength they’ll use for life.

So don’t give up.

As long as you’re feeding on the right spiritual diet. you’ll be good. Take this quote with you.

“Two natures beat within my breast.

One is foul and one is blessed.

One I love and one I hate—

But the one I feed will dominate.”

You’re always feeding something. If you feed your lust, through what you watch, what you listen to, the conversations you entertain—that part of you will grow. But if you feed your spirit—through God’s Word, prayer, worship, truth—that part of you will rise..

So remember this: God isn’t waiting to punish you for falling. He’s building you. He’s walking with you. And He’s inviting you to grow in strength, one step at a time.

Reflection Prompt:

What’s one way you can start feeding your spirit better this week?

Action Step:

Pick one thing you know feeds your spirit (reading Romans 6, prayer, worship music) and commit to doing it for 5–10 minutes each day.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your patience with me.
