What if I told you that one of the biggest reasons people keep going back to pornography\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
is because they\u2019ve stopped being thankful?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It sounds simple\u2014too simple. But it\u2019s true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you\u2019re not grateful for the life you have, it\u2019s easy to chase a false one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That was me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of my biggest triggers wasn\u2019t just lust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was discontent<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I didn\u2019t like the pace of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I didn\u2019t like my season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I didn’t like the challenges,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wasn\u2019t excited about my reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I looked for escape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And pornography offered it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of us don\u2019t realise it, but when we\u2019re not thankful for the life we\u2019ve been given\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n
for our wives, our health, our calling, our provision\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n
we quietly open the door to sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because when you\u2019re not thankful, you\u2019re vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And sin sells you a fantasy to fill the gap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gratitude Is a Weapon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
I started something that changed my life:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A thanksgiving journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A small notebook where I wrote what I was grateful to God for\u2014every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some days I wrote 10 things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some days only 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But every time, I prayed over them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I thanked God for my wife, even after moments I had been unfaithful in my thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I thanked Him for the ministry He still trusted me with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I thanked Him for my health<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I thanked Him for work\u2014even in seasons where I hadn\u2019t stewarded it well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And as I thanked Him, the weight of lust began to lift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gratitude filled the cracks that lust used to crawl through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Start Today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Get a jotter. Or open a fresh note on your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every day, write down a few things you\u2019re thankful to God for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pray over them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speak them out loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And watch how your heart starts to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don\u2019t need a perfect life to be grateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You just need eyes to see what God\u2019s already doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
